Assessment Information
What kind of assessment service does Watchdog provide?
Watchdog provides Psycho-educational assessment to evaluate a child’s psychological aspects of learning and academic skills, behavior and social-emotional function in the context of the child’s development and in comparison to other children of similar age.
What is a Psycho-educational Assessment?
A Psycho-educational Assessment is conducted by our Educational Psychologists, using various Assessment tools such as WPPSI-III, WISC-IV, WIAT-III, Bracken School Readiness Scale etc. (optional depending on the age and needs of each child). Its purpose is to identify the areas of strength and weakness (cognitively and academically) to determine if a child has a developmental delay, learning disability or disorders which includes symptoms of ADHD and Autism for early intervention and additional support. Typically, this involves administering both psychological (e.g., intelligence) tests and educational tests (e.g., a reading or math test).
What is included in the Psycho-educational Assessment?
- Approximately 1.5-2 hours of assessment on the day of the appointment
- A full written report by the Psychologist
- A feedback consultation session will be arranged with the Psychologist
When can the Psycho-educational Assessment be arranged?
The assessment can be arranged from Monday to Saturday from 9:00am-5:00pm depending on the availabilities of our Psychologists.
